american_airlines_plane_inflightA plane departing from Dallas to Indianapolis was forced to make an emergency landing in Little Rock Thursday afternoon after a passenger’s e-cigarette caught fire.

The plane landed in Little Rock about an hour after takeoff following a passenger’s attempt to use his vape device in the airplane’s bathroom, which caused a fire that was put out with extinguishers, according to officials at American Airlines.

There were no injuries reported, and the incident was brought to the attention of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), according to RTV6, an ABC News affiliate station.

A replacement plane was sent to the Little Rock airport to assist the American Airlines flight passengers with their travel to Indianapolis.
