Regina joins other cities across Canada in viewing vapor products as being just as harmful as traditional cigarettes.
The first city to treat vaping with the same vitriol as smoking was Ontario. Under the ‘Making Healthier Choices Act’, the use of vape devices was strictly prohibited in public places within the eastern Canadian province, according to The Rebel, a Canadian media group.
Age restrictions to purchase vapor products were also put in place in Ontario and the sale of e-liquid containing flavoring fell under stringent regulation.
Regina’s mayor and four of the city’s councillors have filed a joint motion with the express purpose of conducting research and gathering feedback before reaching a decision in April that will dictate exactly how Regina will treat vaping in the new year.
